Sermermiut
By bus to the old Heliport and further on by foot to the beautiful Sermermiut Valley with amazing views of the icefjord and the gigantic icebergs. We pass the ruins of Inuit dwellings and the guide tells about the different Inuit cultures that first settled in this valley for more than 4000 years ago. This is an easy hike and we rest at view point where warm drink will be served.

Iceberg Cruise day / Midnight Cruise
The Ilulissat Glacier is the most productive glacier in the Northern hemisphere which results in gigantic icebergs raising up to 800 m. above sea level. We cruise as close to the icebergs as possible while the the staff tells about the ice. For groups we can arrange drinks cooled by this thousands of years old ice. This tour is offered as midnight cruise as well during summertime when the sun never sets.

Hunters Village by Boat
We sail by boat to small isolated village with no road connection to the outside world. In the village we experience the "old Greenland" where local population is mainly depending upon fishing and hunting.
Lunch is served in the village before cruising back to Ilulissat.

Eqi - the Calving Glacier / summer only
By boat to the Eqi glacier north of Ilulissat - one of the few glaciers in this area where one is able to experience the sights and sounds when the glacier calves with thunderlike noices and a new iceberg brakes off and drifts into the fjord. We enjoy our lunch on board the boat while the crew tells about the glaciers, the icebergs and the Inland Ice Cap.

Home Visit / "Kaffemik"
"Kaffe-mik" is the Greenlandic way of celebrating birthdays, weddings, confirmations, "the first thing of everything celebrations" or just greeting visitors.
We work with some local families in town that happily open their private home and arrange this traditional "Kaffe-mik". Please remember that it is a costume to take off the shoes when going indoor. Duration approx. 2 hours. DKK 275 Euro p.p. incl. transfers from/to hotel. Min. 3 pax.
Dogsledge Experience by the Hour - winter only
These hour-based dogsled tours are the perfect solution if you do not want to spend a full day outdoor or if you want to do a "test-drive" before joining longer tours. Still You will experience the dogsled pulled by more than 10 dogs into the Arctic Winterland with the only sound of the dogs and the creaking runners beneath you.

Whale Watching Safari - summer only
Every Summer the whales go into the Disko Bay to feed between the icebergs - a sight beyond imagination. We do only operate the Whale Watching Safaries when we are quite certain that the whales are in the area. Humpback and finwhales are the most common whales, but it is not all that rare to see Greenland whales as well coming up to surface to suck in air. When it breathes it shoots the air upwards before it slowly dissapears beneath the waves. When it comes to the wildernes of nature, we are unfortunately not able to give any guarantees. Duration approx. 5 hours. DKK 1.050 Euro including lunch box and transfers from/to hotel.

Ilulissat Excursions 2017
Ilulissat City Walk
A guided city sightseeing with introduction to Ilulissat and the everyday life, the town´s history and the culture along with Greenland´s history in general. We pay a visit the historic part of the town back to the start of the Danish trading station and the fishermen at the harbour by their trading post “Brædtet” and learn about administration and politics in the modern Greenland. At the Knud Rasmussen (polar explorer) you will find an interesting excibition and outside a model of a turfhouse standing next to modern concrete buildings.

Deep Sea Fishing
Our local captain will seek the best waters for deep sea fishing and hand out fishing equipments so that you can try your luch to catch god, catfish, redfisk and halibut which are the most common fish in the area. While waiting for a catch you will have time to enjoy the fantansic Arctic Scenere and your lunch box.

Try Greenland Kayaking
Do not worry if this is your fist time kayaking. You will learn everything you need to know from experienced guide and be ready to experience a world of lights, sounds and feelings from a completely new perspective: At sea level.

The Greenlandic Huskies
There are approx. 4.000 huskies in Ilulissat and dogsledding here is still the only way people can travel during the winters. We spend an hour with a fisherman while he is feeding his pack of huskies and we learn about these tough animals, the sled, the life of a Greenlandic hunter. For your safty all dogs are chained except for puppies and their mothers. We kindly ask you to remember, that huskies are not at all pets as we know and treat our dogs at home.

By helicopter to Ilulissat Glacier
By helicoper charter to the most productive glacier in the Northern hemisphere. Ground stop is made in front of the glacier and it will be possible to leave the helicopter and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings. During the flight to and from the glacier, we are cruising in low altitude over the Ilulissat Ice Fjord and the icebergs. An absolutely "once-in-a-lifetime" experience! Operation is depending on the weather and helicopter capacity. We reserve the right to cancel the excursion.

Hunters Village by Dogsled - winter only
We travel by dogsled along the only "road" (the dogsled-track) to the village Oqaatsut. A beautiful ride in an amazing silence over the mountains, crossing the frozen fjord and where huge icebergs raise like sculptures. Prior to the tour, there will be an information meeting and all tours are led by experienced local fishermen. Please note that departure might be changed or cancelled due to weather conditions.

Dogsled Expeditions - winter only
For those who wishes a true polar explorers experience and a full taste of the Inuit fishermens life we also offer expeditions by dogsled from 2 to 4 days with fullboard and accomodation in tents and simple cabins in the Arctic wildernes. These tours are definately a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we stress that proper clothing and good physics are essential. All tours are led by local and very experienced fishermen.
