Arctic wilderness
Direct flight by comfortable jets, only 4½ hours from Copenhagen, makes travelling time and cost to Kangerlussuaq a very attractive way to experience the Greenlandic wilderness. We do not categorize Kangerlussuaq as the "REAL Greenland" with a daily life similar to the coastal towns - still it is a splendid area for the nature lover who values the untouched arctic nature and the adventurer looking for challenges.
Unique excursions
Daily excursions are available in Kangerlussuaq such as tours by special designed 4W trucks through the arctic landscape directly to the Inland Ice Cap. It feels like going back in time to the Ice Age and why not take a stroll? On our Arctic Safaris one can be lucky to experience wildlife animals like pre-historic musk oxen and arctic reindeer in their natural habitats. The area offers more possibilities for private hikes (or guided hikes) - also with a possibility of transportation to/from various starting points that makes it possible to reach more distant sights. Hiking maps are available at the destination.
Camp Ice Cap Expedition
For the more adventurous travellers, we also offer the possibility of staying overnight at Camp Ice Cap on the Inland Ice Cap. The tour is not demanding and everybody can participate as long as they do not mind staying overnight in a simple tent camp. The expeditions are of course led by an experienced local guide and all security regulatives are kept. All equipment is included the price. Please click to see 360 degrees pictures from the camp.
Polar Lodge
Our guests will be accommodated at the cozy Polar Lodge which is located next to the airport terminal. Breakfast is always included in the price and the lodge kitchen has free access for guests to prepare lunch and dinners. It is of course also possible to purchace these meals at the next door hotel cafeteria.
Restaurant "Roklubben"
If you wish to treat yourself with "a real dinner" we recommend Restaurant "Roklubben" serving fine Greenlandic meals and local beer. The restaurant is located at Lake Ferguson outside of Kangerlussuaq surrounded by great nature. When booking a table, transfers to and from the restaurant are free of charge.
