Greenland

Ilulissat

Kangerlussuaq

Kulusuk

Narsarsuaq

South Greenland, Narsarsuaq
Copenhagen and Reykjavik are gateways into Narsarsuaq in South Greenland. Distances between the many highlights in the area are rather short and capacity of boats is rather high.
Even transfers by helicopter are affordable due to short distances.

East Greenland, Kulusuk

Reykjavik is the gateway to East Greenland with flights to Kulusuk. The major town in East Greenland is Tasiilaq - a 10 minutes flight by helicopter from Kulusuk. We always recommend a max of 1 night in Kulusuk and 2 nights in Tasiilaq.

West Greenland, Ilulissat & Kangerlussuaq

The main tourist destination in West Greenland is Ilulissat which is reached by direct flights from Reykjavik or Copenhagen (via Kangerlussuaq).
If flying from Copenhagen we recommend a one or two nights stay in Kangerlussuaq.

Greenland has 3 major tourist areas

                         Ilulissat
                    Kangerlussuaq

         Kangerlussuaq & Ilulissat combined

South Greenland, Summer

Narsarsuaq

Narsaq & Qaqortoq

     East Greenland, Summer & Winter

                           Kulusuk
                           Tasiilaq

             Kulusuk & Tasiilaq combined

No roads

In Greenland there are no roads nor railways to connect the cities - it is the biggest island in the world with very long distances. Travelling between the cities is depending upon domestic flights which are rather expensive. Based on these very special conditions we advise visitors to concentrate on visiting only one area per stay.
